Reasons To Love My Kids (just This Week)
1. Email from former student just to say ‘Hi’
2.Email from former student to say that life is more complicated without me to talk to about . .. well, life.
3. Visit from former student to thank me for being a good teacher and getting them ready for life/college.
4. IM from former student wishing that I was her current teacher instead of the ‘moron’ she’s stuck with.
5. One of my kids dropped out of school today, but felt that she had to apologize to me for it, and promise that she will return next year.
6. Student I don’t even have stopping me in a resturant, excited to tell me she is taking my class next year, in front of my parents.
And it’s only Wen.
With everything going on in my building that is driving me batshitcrazymad it’s nice to get these reminders of why I do it.
